Randy Shields

As Vice President in Marx|Okubo’s Southeast region, Randy’s key roles are in project management, business development, and operations. He has served as an architect, owner’s representative, project manager, operations director, and pre-construction executive on a wide variety of projects, with a special focus on complex building envelopes.

Randy has over 20 years of experience in the real estate and development industry. Prior to joining Marx|Okubo, he spent three years as a senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle where he delivered project and development management services for a large-scale technology company’s campus redevelopment project. Before that, he was the principal-in-charge of a 44-unit midrise condominium in Midtown Atlanta in which he led all aspects of the development process including design, financing, construction, sales, HOA turnover, and closeout. Additionally, Randy provided leadership and strategy in the development of a luxury condominium in the Midtown Atlanta submarket.

He has also managed the development and construction activities of a Saudi Arabian family office, overseeing an annual budget of over $200 million, and led acquisition due diligence for the family office’s portfolio, with a focus on the UK, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Randy was the real estate team’s lead for several strategic portfolio projects aimed at consolidating banking assets following several regional acquisitions. In addition, he oversaw the roll-out of a retail banking portfolio which saved over $3 million through strategic partnering efforts with outsourced service providers. Furthermore, he managed the development of a new headquarters building in the Houston Galleria area for a consolidated leadership team.

Randy earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in architecture with honors from Clemson University. He also taught architectural design at the Cooper Union School in New York and Clemson University and is a licensed architect in the state of New York.
